The eclipse was actually a rare total eclipse in ZyuRanger footage. Daizyujin's power comes from a solar source called Gaiatron energy and it was at its weakest due to the eclipse.

This was the first episode of Power Rangers (and ZyuRanger) in which we first see the Scorpion Monster which is the Giant Form of Scorpina/Lammy.

All of the footage of the Battle Bikes and their sidecars are ZyuRanger footage.

This episode also features the first appearance of Scorpina in American footage. You can't see the front of her for obvious reasons.
